จากกรณีการนำเสนอข่าวของสํานักข่าวรอยเตอร์ เกี่ยวกับกูเกิลจะระงับการทำธุรกิจกับหัวเว่ยนั้น หัวเว่ยขอชี้แจงว่า ตลอดระยะเวลาที่ผ่านมา หัวเว่ยได้เป็นส่วนสำคัญในพัฒนาการและการเติบโตของแอนดรอยด์ทั่วโลก และในฐานะที่เป็นพันธมิตรรายหลักของแอนดรอยด์ในระดับโลกเราได้ร่วมทำงานอย่างใกล้ชิดกับแพลทฟอร์มโอเพ่นซอร์ซของพันธมิตรทั่วโลกเพื่อพัฒนาอีโคซิสเต็มที่ก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์ทั้งต่อผู้ใช้และต่ออุตสาหกรรมนี้

หัวเว่ยขอให้ความมั่นใจว่าจะยังคงให้บริการอัพเดทซอฟท์แวร์ด้านความปลอดภัยและบริการหลังการขายแก่ผลิตภัณฑ์สมาร์ทโฟนและแท็บเล็ตของหัวเว่ยที่มีอยู่ในปัจจุบันทั้งหมดต่อไป ครอบคลุมถึงโมเดลที่ได้จำหน่ายออกไปแล้วและที่ยังรอการจัดจำหน่ายอยู่ในสต็อกทั่วโลก

At 5:07am ET, Huawei issued the following statement:

“Huawei has made substantial contributions to the development and growth of Android around the world. As one of Android’s key global partners, we have worked closely with their open-source platform to develop an ecosystem that has benefitted both users and the industry.

“Huawei will continue to provide security updates and after-sales services to all existing Huawei and Honor smartphone and tablet products, covering those that have been sold and that are still in stock globally.

“We will continue to build a safe and sustainable software ecosystem, in order to provide the best experience for all users globally.”
